Out of Town Patients

It is common for out-of-town patients to come to the Bay Area for plastic surgery. After all, the Bay Area is known for its great medical facilities, reputable universities, and state-of-the-art technology. As a board certified Plastic Surgeon with advanced training, Dr. John Griffin has seen his share of patients traveling to his practice from other areas of California, other states, and other countries. To make it possible for out-of-town patients to meet with Dr. Griffin prior to any scheduled surgical appointment, he offers virtual consultations. As long as a patient can access the Internet, they can undergo an online consultation with Dr. Griffin. The virtual consultation process consists of four simple steps.

Step One: Enter Your Basic Information

To begin the virtual consultation process, simply enter some information about yourself, including your name, phone number, email address, and the best way to contact you (either via email or phone).

Step Two: Enter Personal Information

Next, you will enter some personal information about yourself, including:

  • The procedure or procedures you are interested in undergoing
  • When you hope to undergo surgery
  • Your age
  • Your gender
  • Your height and weight
  • Your measurements
  • Whether or not you smoke
  • A list of previous surgeries that you have undergone
  • A list of medical conditions that affect you
  • A list of current medications
  • The type of results you hope to achieve with plastic surgery
  • Any questions or comments you have

It is important to be open and honest with Dr. Griffin about your cosmetic concerns and your medical history. With clear communication, Dr. Griffin can develop a treatment plan that will help you achieve your aesthetic goals, while also keeping your overall health and safety in mind.

Step Three: Upload Photos

To determine if you are a good candidate for surgery, patients can upload photos of the area of concern. Dr. Griffin asks that patients take the photos in front a solid colored background. At least one front view photo, and two profile photos (from the left and right angles) should be uploaded.

Step Four: Access Patient Forms

The final step of the virtual consultation process is to download any patient forms, fill them out, and fax them to Dr. Griffin’s office. Once Dr. Griffin has received your basic information, personal information, photos, and patient forms, he can review your case and better determine your candidacy for plastic surgery.
