Aesthetic Breast Surgery
Dr. Griffin offers a full spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive breast
procedures. Patients desiring aesthetic breast surgery may choose to have
augmentation, breast lifting, or breast reduction. A wide variety of silicone
and saline implants are available to choose from.

Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is accomplished by placement
of soft, silicone or saline implants underneath the breast tissue. Generally,
the implants are placed under the pectoralis muscle to achieve a tapered
and natural breast enhancement. Occasionally, the implants may be placed
on top of the muscle. Dr. Griffin's goal is to create a natural and
beautiful enhancement that is tailored to the needs and desires of each
patient
Breast Augmentation Incisions
Dependent on the patient's desires and
breast shape, Dr. Griffin offers breast implant placement through three
possible incisions. Patients may choose placement through the underarm(endoscopic
trans-axillary), at the border of the nipple(peri-areolar), or at the
breast fold(inframammary).
Mastopexy - Breast Lift
As we age, the breast tissue can lose shape and volume. The effects
of breast feeding can also add to a change in breast shape. The upper
portion of the breast can appear less youthful, with the lower breast
and nipple resting at a lower position on the chest. Patients with
these changes in the breasts, known as Breast Ptosis, may choose to
have a breast lift.
This procedure preserves breast tissue and protects nipple sensation. The breast skin is lifted so that the breast regains a full and youthful shape. Patients may choose to combine breast lifting with a breast augmentation.
Breast Reduction
Many patients with large breasts complain of back and neck pain, as well
as deep bra strap grooving. These problems may be the patient's primary
concern. The patient may also feel that her breasts are out of proportion
to her body. A breast reduction may be performed in order to reduce
the size of the breasts, lift the breasts, and create a more youthful
and rejuvenated appearance. Dr. Griffin offers vertical scar breast
reductions as well as the traditional wise-pattern reduction.
