Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
During an abdominoplasty, the excess skin of the lower abdomen is removed. The skin above the pubic area is lifted and smoothed. The abdominal wall muscles are tightened to give the abdomen a flatter and more toned contour. Liposuction of the hips and flanks is often done in conjunction with abdominoplasty. This adds additional smoothing to the lateral aspects of the body. Overall, abdominoplasty is one of the most dramatic aesthetic procedures available in plastic surgery.
Liposuction is the selective removal of fat from problem areas of the body. This procedure can be used alone, or together with other body contouring procedures. Patients who have excess fat, that has not improved with diet and exercise, may be excellent candidates for liposuction. Best results are achieved when the fat is localized in specific problem areas and where skin tone is good.
Dr. Griffin offers Ultrasound Assisted liposuction, which he uses together with the Superwet liposuction technique. The ultrasound helps soften the fat and contour the more fibrous areas. The Superwet technique, similar to the Tumescent technique, involves treating the tissues with fluid and analgesic medicine prior to liposuction. Dr. Griffin offers this combination of techniques towards his goal of optimal contouring and pain control.
Lower Body Lift and Belt Lipectomy
Many patients, particularly those who have undergone significant weight loss, are candidates for Lower Body Lift or Belt Lipectomy. This includes patients who have undergone Bariatric Surgery or Weight Loss through Diet. This procedure is designed for those patients who desire rejuvenation of the abdomen, lateral thighs, and buttocks. In essence, the lower body lift combines an abdominoplasty with lateral thigh lifts and buttock lift. This procedure is ideal for patients with excess skin laxity and ptosis of tissues of the circumferential body, who would not achieve desired contouring with an abdominoplasty alone. Patients who have not undergone weight loss may choose lower body lift over abdominoplasty, as well. Dr. Griffin draws upon extensive training in this area, as well as his current practice treating weight loss patients.
Brachioplasty or Arm Lift
Patients who have undergone significant weight loss may lose volume of the arm tissues. The result is excess skin of the arms. With a brachioplasty, the excess skin of the arms is removed, and remaining tissues are re-draped. The result is restored, youthful contour to the arms. Liposuction is sometimes used in conjunction with arm lift.
Medial Thigh Lift
Similar to the loss of volume and skin laxity that weight loss patients experience in the arms, the medial thighs can undergo similar changes. Many patients desire lifting of the medial thighs. In this procedure, the skin and some excess fat of the medial thighs is removed. The remaining tissues are carefully re-draped in order to yield a smoother appearance to the medial thighs. Liposuction may be used at the same time as thigh lift, in selected cases.
Every day I am astounded by the beauty of Dr. Griffin’s exceptional work. He is a skilled, highly trained, fantastic plastic surgeon. From the minute met him, I knew that he would be the one to complete my transformation. My initial consult was so thorough. He listened to my thoughts, and then made a recommendation based on his experience. I had a lower body lift and am delighted with the outcome.
Dr. Griffin is the complete package. His pre-op and post-op care is exceptional. Whenever I had a question or concern, he was more than happy to discuss it with me until I was satisfied. I always felt that he was genuinely interested in my result. His staff mirrors his dedication to his profession. They are great. I always felt comfortable calling and discussing my questions with them.
I am planning on additional plastic surgery to complement the beauty that he has already created.
